County North Children’s Center

County North Children’s Center, Inc. (CNCC) is pleased to provide nearly 35 years of quality childcare and early childhood education to our community as a not-for-profit center. We were founded in 1972 by a group of schoolteachers and community members who wanted a safe, healthy learning environment for their children. Located in the Town of Salina building since 1984, we currently care for over 100 children from families throughout Onondaga County. In 1996, County North earned accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  NAEYC accreditation is a measure of ten, high-quality national standards and criteria. County North is only one of six child care centers in Onondaga County to hold that accreditation.

The County North Children’s Center Board of Directors is seeking three new board members to serve a three-year term. Board members meet 6-8 times per year, and members are asked to serve on a minimum of one subcommittee, which meets 1-2x per year, or as needed. The time commitment varies, but meetings average 1-1.5 hours. There is no financial obligation for board members.

We are actively looking for board members with strengths in finance, human resources, buildings and grounds, fundraising, and grant-writing, but are always looking to diversify our board and welcome potential members from all backgrounds and professions to apply.
