F.O.C.U.S. Greater Syracuse

“Forging Our Community’s United Strength,” F.O.C.U.S. Greater Syracuse is a community-wide visioning program created with the goal of making Syracuse a better place to live and work. Started by a group of Leadership Greater Syracuse graduates and interested residents, the program, loosely modeled after several visioning projects around the country, came out of the desire to determine a course of action and growth for Syracuse. F.O.C.U.S. Greater Syracuse, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization.

Volunteer opportunity to serve a 3-year term, January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2020. Board meetings are held on the 4th Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. and last approximately 1 hour.  Board members also serve on a standing committee that meets every 4-6 weeks, with the date and time determined by the committee chair.  During the annual board appeal 100% participation is expected.  Board members are asked to make F.O.C.U.S. a priority on their list of non-profit giving each year. Board members need to actively reach out and recruit sponsors for our annual Wisdom Keeper event. No specific dollar amounts are established.

F.O.C.U.S. is looking for a board member with legal background who can help with legal questions and any by-law or employee-handbook changes that need to be made, as well as support with grant applications as necessary.
