Loretto’s mission: to be a family of exceptional people who care for and about each other. Loretto is a comprehensive continuing healthcare organization which provides a variety of services for older adults throughout Central New York. The comprehensive system of care serves close to 10,000 individuals each year through 19 specialized programs in Onondaga and Cayuga counties. From home-based care to skilled nursing and memory care, we provide a full range of services throughout our 19 sites. We serve the needs of all income levels as this community’s safety-net provider.
Board Members responsibility: General responsibilities include oversight of the organization’s finances and applicable rules and regs, hiring the President and evaluating performance, reliance on Mission as a guideline for Board action. They are required to attend meetings, actively participate on at least one major committee, be visible and advocate for Loretto, etc. Board members can be expected to be solicited for financial contributions and participate in fund-raising initiatives commensurate with their ability and availability.
Board Members serve a 3 year term. All applicants would fill out an information and interest sheet and conflict of interest form. Their application and resume would go before the board nominating committee for review. Recommendation would then be sent to the full board for approval of potential new member. Once accepted, a Board orientation and site tours with the CEO scheduled.
