Syracuse Poster Project Seeks Board Members

The Syracuse Poster Project brings together community poets and artists to create an annual series of posters for the downtown poster panels and exhibits throughout the community.  Each poster features an illustrated poem about downtown, the city or nearby countryside. The Project enlivens the settings, builds community, and spreads its value by selling poster prints and poster-related products.  The 2021 poster series marks our 20th anniversary.

The organization is currently seeking board members and volunteers.  Beyond tasks suited to their skills, board members and volunteers can help with organizing their annual poster unveiling celebration; staffing their booth at arts and craft sales; soliciting donations and corporate sponsorship; and recruiting new poets, artists, and volunteers to the organization.

Board members commit to a two-year term after attending two monthly board meetings. The board meets monthly (first Wednesday of the month except August and December) from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in the CommonSpace offices downtown.

Board members are asked to make an annual contribution of money, time, and influence that is personally meaningful.

The Poster Project is specifically looking for board members and volunteers with skills in business and entrepreneurship, bookkeeping and accounting, fundraising and development, marketing and promotion, sales, information technology and website development.
