Toomey Residential Looking for Volunteers

Toomey Residential and Community Services helps individuals achieve their highest level of capability and increase opportunities for their future success.  They are committed to person-centered, family focused services.

Toomey Residential & Community Services is a non-profit in the Central New York area that serves children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, children experiencing mental health challenges, children who cannot remain at home and require foster care placement, and children who are unaccompanied refugee minors who come to the United States from around the world.  The services are described in more detail here on Toomey’s website.

They currently have open positions on their board. Board members can serve up to two, 3-year terms.

Board meetings are held on the second Friday of the month at 8:00 am and last an hour.  Committee meetings are monthly or quarterly at all different days and times depending on members’ schedules.

There is no personal financial obligation, however board members give and provide assistance in securing contributions for Toomey Residential and Community Services if possible and practical.

At this time, they are looking for people with finance and marketing backgrounds – but all welcome for an exploratory conversation.
