The LGS Flagship Program

Meet our Flagship Program

Our Flagship Program is a year-long, experiential learning opportunity that brings participants into the heart of Central New York. You’re not sitting in a classroom. You’re volunteering, networking, and learning life skills that you will use for the rest of your life.

Throughout the year, participants meet community leaders, build meaningful connections, and explore the strengths and challenges of our region. Recent graduates shared that 91% formed relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds, and 94% feel better equipped to work strategically with diverse stakeholders to create positive change. The program inspires leaders to grow, collaborate, and make a lasting impact in the community they call home.

Overview

Participants spend a full year learning from community leaders, exploring regional issues, collaborating with classmates, and engaging with the people and organizations that shape Central New York. The experience builds confidence, strengthens networks, and inspires participants to take active roles in supporting the community.

Time Commitment

A meaningful leadership shift takes time because real growth happens through repeated practice, reflection, and trust built with a diverse cohort.

Tuition

If selected, nonrefundable tuition of $4,450 is due December 31 each year. Payment plans and partial tuition assistance are available, as funds allow.

Applying

At this time, the deadline for applying for 2026 has passed. However, applications for 2027 will re-open in the spring of 2026.

The application takes 20-30 minutes to complete. You will need to include your supervisor’s email so that LGS can be assured they are aware of the time commitment and cost, should you be accepted.
