Leadership Greater Syracuse Announces the Class of 2024

(January 10, 2024 – East Syracuse, NY) – Leadership Greater Syracuse (LGS) announces the 34th class of its flagship program – beginning this month.

While they participate in this year-long program, the LGS Class of 2024 will learn how to become stronger leaders while being immersed in the achievements and challenges of the Syracuse community.

LGS’s flagship program inspires people to make a difference in the community where we live and work. To date, the program has graduated nearly 1,500 participants—80 percent of whom still live in the Syracuse community. Participants come to LGS from corporations, nonprofits, and small businesses with varying job roles and backgrounds.

“The unique part about LGS is that by participating in this experiential learning opportunity, class members build new skills, networks, and connections that last a lifetime,” said Michele Diecuch, LGS executive director. “Participants leave the program energized and often with different goals than when beginning the program.”

LGS’s flagship program builds leaders who go on to make a difference with their employers and help to contribute to a stronger and engaged Syracuse community. Throughout the year, participants grow as leaders by working collectively to become educated about and engaged in local government, health initiatives, economic development, volunteer opportunities, and more.

“The Syracuse community is on the precipice of big growth, and it’s important for us to continue to build a pipeline of strong leaders who will give back to the community in various ways,” said Diecuch. “LGS’s program fosters that mindset.”

Participants in the LGS Class of 2024 (listed below) represent a cross-section of individuals who are diverse in age, race, ability, residence, profession, and employment sector.

Leadership Greater Syracuse, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1991 by CenterState CEO, Onondaga County, the City of Syracuse, and Onondaga Community College. It is financially supported by many organizations including United Radio, Community Bank, and Turning Stone Resort Casino.
