Leadership Greater Syracuse Announces the Class of 2018

(December 4, 2017 – East Syracuse, NY) – Leadership Greater Syracuse (LGS) will welcome its 28th Class – the LGS Class of 2018 – at its annual Holiday Social on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Palace Theater in Eastwood.

“Central New Yorkers look to LGS for personal development and professional connections to serve the greater good,” said Pam Brunet, LGS executive director and graduate of the LGS Class of 1998. “We are looking forward to connecting these individuals to the leaders in our community and empowering them with the knowledge they will use to make CNY better,” she added.

“The 54 participants in the Class of 2018 will be immersed in the issues and achievements of our community — and through the year-long program, they will be provided the tools and the connections they need to give back to CNY in a way that is significant to them,” Brunet said.  The participants represent a cross-section of local business, education, and non-profit organizations. LGS teaches participants about community leadership, empowerment, group dynamics, community opportunities and trends. “LGS has a 27-year track record of inspiring people to make a difference in the community where we live and work,” Brunet said. A recent survey showed that 82 percent of all LGS graduates are still living in Central New York and have held more than 800 volunteer positions. “We are preventing the brain drain,” said Brunet.

The Class of 2018 will participate in an orientation from 5-6 p.m. and then be welcomed by the LGS alumni at the annual LGS Holiday Social immediately following the orientation. (See list of participants below.)
