Leadership Greater Syracuse Announces Alumni Achievement Award Winner

Lynn Hy of the Food Bank of Central New York

(East Syracuse, N.Y. – April 4, 2018) – Leadership Greater Syracuse (LGS) announces that LGS 2016 graduate Lynn Hy of the Food Bank of CNY will be receiving the 2018 LGS Alumni Achievement Award at the organization’s annual Let’s Get Social event on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Dietz Lantern Factory on Wilkinson Street in Syracuse, NY.

This award is special to us because this is our version of The People’s Choice Award. LGS graduates nominate fellow LGSers for the award and all the nominees are put before all 1,300 graduates to vote for the winner,” said Pam Brunet, executive director of LGS.

In her nomination, it was said:  “Lynn exhibits what it means to be fully immersed in the community and she exemplifies what behaviors we want all LGS alumni to practice as we strive to make Central New York a better place to live.”

A resident of the City of Syracuse, Hy is the chief development officer for the Food Bank of CNY and is the current president of the Central NY Chapter of Fund Raising Professionals.  Lynn began working at the Food Bank in October 2010 and is responsible for resource development, public relations, marketing, and volunteerism.

It is her passion for the community and the compassion for the people living in CNY that sets her apart. “Lynn is first on the scene and the last to leave for many of the food collection and distribution events,” said her nominator. “Her dedication is steadfast and her work ethic is strong. She makes the world brighter with her optimistic outlook and love for people.”

The LGS Alumni Achievement Award was established to honor and recognize LGS grads who have taken their LGS training to the highest level and who have exhibited exceptional civic leadership.

LGS expects more than 100 people to attend the event which starts at 5:30 p.m.  Tours of the Dietz Lofts will be available. Food is being provided by Toss ‘n Fire and Middle Ages Brewing Company will be serving free samples.  The event is open to the public and people can register at: https://2018letsgetsocial.eventbrite.com
