Board of Directors and Finance/Investment Committee opportunity at Advocates Incorporated –
Advocates is a person-centered not for profit organization that empowers individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to direct their own lives and create a vision for their future. They advocate for a future where people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities can fully participate in their home, schools, and communities in a meaningful way. Their mission is to empower people and families to direct their own life and create a vision for the future.
Advocates is seeking a board member with a diverse background to serve on our Finance and Investment Committee as well as making a difference as a part of the larger board of directors. The board meets once a month at noon (except June, July and August), members are invited to meet either in person or virtually. Additionally, the Finance and Audit committee meets once per month virtually at noon. Interest and experience in Finance and a CPA background is desired.
Board members are required to make an annual donation at any dollar level. The organization has directors and officers insurance.
